Trial Packet

Trial coming up? Walk in prepared.

Five-minute intake, and we generate a court-ready packet for your in-person traffic trial: cross-examination questions, exhibit list, closing outline. For drivers heading to court — including those who lost a Trial by Written Declaration and are entitled to a fresh in-person hearing.

12–15 cross-exam questions

Tied to the elements of your specific charge. Ask one at a time, listen, establish the record.

Subpoena-ready exhibit list

Calibration logs, traffic surveys, dashcam, witness statements. Bring the right paper.

Closing argument outline

Three sentences. You can read them verbatim. Tied to the gaps you established on cross.

Common questions

I lost my Trial by Written Declaration — is this for me?+
Yes. When the court denies a TBWD you’re entitled to request a fresh in-person trial (sometimes called a trial de novo). This packet preps you for that hearing — the original written outcome doesn’t carry over.
I never filed a TBWD; I just have an in-person trial coming up. Can I still use this?+
Yes. Whether you got to court via TBWD denial or any other path (skipping TBWD entirely, pro se filing elsewhere), the packet works the same.
What does the AI need to personalize the packet?+
Two things: (1) your answers in the 5-step intake — your version of events, what you dispute, witnesses, evidence; (2) the officer’s sworn statement (you’ll paste or upload that on the checkout page after intake). The post-TBWD path provides the officer statement automatically; for standalone, you bring it.
What if I don’t have the officer’s statement?+
For the $25 after-intake tier, the AI uses both your intake answers and the officer statement. Without it, the AI falls back to a deterministic foundation-gap template tuned to your violation type — still useful, less specific. Most customers can request the officer’s statement from the court before trial.
Is this legal advice?+
No. DontPayTickets is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. We prepare documents at your direction. You remain the pro-se litigant. Consult a licensed attorney for legal advice.
